I can’t believe I have gone this long without giving credit to one of my favorites: talk radio hall-of-famer and “The High Priest of the Church of the Painful Truth”, Neal Boortz. Neal has been at it for 40 years now and here in Chicago we can’t get him on the radio because this highly syndicated show has been deemed “too Southern” for our sensibilities. I read him daily and tune into his show from time to time via the “listen live” feature on his website. This is the ONLY way to listen to AM radio! No static at all.
It’s been a rough week for Neal. Royal Marshall, the show’s 43 year-old producer and on air personality dropped dead suddenly of a heart attack last weekend. Neal lost a dear friend and Royal’s wife and little girls lost a devoted husband and father. That might clear up some confusion for first time readers / listeners.
Like me, Neal is unable to stomach the ordeal of actually watching the State of the Union speech. He gave a great rebuttal in advance in today’s Nealz Nuze, a daily feature of written commentary and suggested online reading.
Neal points out that Obama will call for “increased investments” in various areas including high speed rail, education and drug research. Neal calls BS and says this is just more spending with spin-to wit:
“This isn’t investing, this is high-speed railroading”
