Happy Thanksgiving!

While this is certainly an “All American” holiday, harvest celebrations have been around since way before the Pilgrims and Wampanoag Indians had theirs. President Lincoln made ours official in 1863.  The Pilgrims certainly had reason to be thankful. Only about  half of the Mayflower passengers and crew survived the first winter. The Indians taught them the survival techniques that led to that first feast.

I’m thankful to be an American.

  1. Hi Pat,

Another reason to be thankful we live in the greatest country man has ever known. http://spectator.org/archives/2010/11/23/the-decline-of-british-politic (It explains how a Tea Party movement is not possible in Britain.)

    Enjoy your Thanksgiving!

  2. Thanks for the link Pat (it’s a different Pat). I enjoy the Hitchens Brothers…most don’t know about Peter. The UK is a mess. It’s very useful in the what not to do department. Obama and crew want to try out policies that have already failed there.
